New Script

Following difficulties I had when I was filming a big group scene last time I decided I could change my script so I didn't require a large amount of people to be apart of the show. It was Scene 1 and Scene 6 that I changed.

SCENE 1: EXT GREEN ROOM
Piano keys playing the main song 'Hurt Me Hurt You' The Director is standing beside the piano and Bella is struggling to sing the song.
DIRECTOR
Stop, stop , stop. Bella what is going on? Why aren't you singing?
BELLA
I'm sorry, I'm not sure what's happening. I swear I can do it, I can sing this!
(coughing)
DIRECTOR
Stop. Just stop, there is nothing you can do about it, just go home.
(Annoyed)
BELLA
I'm fine, I can do this, its just a little cough, I just need one moment.
(Coughing, on the verge of tears)
DIRECTOR
Go home Bella, you know I cant have you like this, just go.
(angry/ annoyed)
BELLA
Okay, I understand, I'm really sorry.
(Almost crying)
Bella collects her bag and coat and rushes out of the green room, leaving the director and the pianist alone in silence.
DIRECTOR
Damn it!
(Yelling in anger)
END SHOT OF THE SCENE THE DIRECTORS FIST SLAMMING DOWN ON THE PIANO.
SCENE 2: EXT THE THEATER
The director is sitting in the middle of the audience's chairs looking at the stage. Harper enters.

2.
FAR AWAY WIDE ANGLE SHOT OF THE AUDIENCE, THE CAMERA IS CONSTANTLY MOVING IN ON THE TWO.
Harper is looking at the Director, the Director is looking at the Camera defeated.
HARPER
This might seen out of line, or too soon to talk about, however I think I have found you the Perfect replacement.
The Director turns her head to look at Harper.
HARPER
Quinn
The director suddenly looks back towards the camera, realization evident.
DIRECTOR
Get the the ensemble.
SCENE 3: EXT ON THE STAGE
Some members of the ensemble a lined up on stage the the director standing in front of them.
FAR AWAY, HIGH ANGLE SHOT OF EVERYONE ON STAGE. QUICK CUT TO THE DIRECTORS POV OF THE CAST.
DIRECTOR
As I'm sure you've all heard I have two days to find a replacement lead before the opening night and if I don't, then there is no show, and if we have no show, we don't have a job, therefore, on money.
The director paces up and down the line in front of them.
(Stern, authoritative tone)
I've called you all here to see who you think should get the role, or convince me why it should be you.

3.
INDIVIDUAL CLOSE UPS OF THE ENSEMBLE CONVINCING THE DIRECTOR. BETWEEN EACH SHOT THERE IS A SHOT OF THE DIRECTOR LOOKING DEFEATED.
HAILEY
OH EM GEE! Okay so you should like totally give the role to me because, well first of i am way prettier than the girl you cast before.
EVA
I think it should be me because I'm like an amazing singer!
ALICE
It should definitely be me because I'm amazing at dancing
HARPER
You know it should be Quinn.
DIRECTOR
I cant just put Quinn in the role. She isn't even here now. She's just a dancer.
SCENE 4: EXT THE THEATER
The Director is sitting center of the front row looking over her notes. She begins to hear singing from the green room. She goes to her who is singing, realization evident on her face. The Director walks towards the greenroom to reveal it is Quinn singing.
DIRECTOR
It's you, you have to be my leading lady!
(Surprised and excited)
Quinn looks up from stretching and stops singing.
(Surprised)
SCENE 6: EXT: THE THEATER
With the piano on stage and Quinn standing next to it singing 'Hurt Me Hurt You'. The Director and some of the cast are sitting in the front row watching her sing.
After the song has finished the cast clap and cheer for her. The Director stands up and walks to her in the middle of the stage.

4.
