Aims and Intentions preparations

This is my plan for what I will write in my aims and intentions.

Media Language
Aims: To create a well produced, effective TV show musical which will feature enigma codes people will enjoy and want to continue watching. It will be fluid with the camera movements and have quick witty editing shots.
Intentions: I will include all the appropriate mise-en-scene to fit with my such, such as lighting, props, setting.


Representation
Aims: I want my show to have a prominently female cast to show how competitive the performance industry is for females. Additionally, I would like to make a show that doesn’t have a large male presents.
Intentions: I want to show case the talent that is in hills including the drama and dance department.


Audience
Aims: I aim for my audience to be 18-25 millennials who are interested in musicals and who would have watched glee.
Intentions: My intention is that the audience will be inspired to either see or get involved with drama and live performances. I want my audience to be able to envision themselves as the characters.


Industry Context
Aims: I want my show to be similar to other shows which would be shown on ITV but I want mine to be different by having a majority female cast as my unique selling point.
Intentions: I want to produce a show which viewers could recognise being from ITV however still having a unique twist being my directing and having my USP.

Welcome back, since doing my research into the two TV channels I have been informed that I am not just restricted to ITV1 but I can pick any of their commercial portfolio. Due to this I have done some research into the different channels to see the different remit options.  ITV is the home of high quality, popular televission from the biggest entertainment events, to original drama, soaps, sport, factual series and independent news, both national, and regional.  ITV2 is ITV's entertainment channel for young people, with a range of shows including orignial scripted comedies and panel shows, American acquisitions and movies.  ITV3 is a home for popular classic drama series from ITV, alongside a selection of choice factual and entertainment programmes. Welcome! Hi, my name is Becca and this is my introduction to my media studies coursework. I am currently 17 years old, studying my A levels at Hills Road sixth form college. These consist of Media studies, History and Drama, in hopes that they will help me go on to study Film studies at University. The task I have been set from my college is to create a cross-media production for a new television programme, which includes an audio visual aspect along with a print aspect. As part of our brief we were told the target audience for our shows were 18-35 millennials.  Millennials are likely the most studied and talked about generation to date.  The definition of a millennial is " a person reaching young adulthood in the early 21st century". There are no precise dates for when the age of this group starts or ends; but it's typically the early 1980s as starting birth years and the mid-1990s to early 2000s as ending birth years.
