Hi again, I have created an action plan of the first few weeks to my course work. I will do my best to follow this plan as closely as I can but if I don't keep up I might need to update it.

  •        Research into ITV and Channel 5.

  •        Research into Target audience.

  •        Create mood boards about the possibilities of what shows I could do.
  •        Watch 3 other programmes which are similar to the one I have chosen.

  •        Get an idea of what kind of show I want to do.
  •        Create a mind map on similar shows which could give me inspiration.
  •       Create a poll on what people prefer ITV and Channel 5.

  •         Look into theorists which I could uses for target audience.
  •     Think into characters, script, music, actors.
  •        Know what my show is going to be.
  •        First draft of my aims and intentions for my show.

  •        Create a storyboard for my show – shot by shot sequence of what’s going to happen.
  •      Draft a script.
  •        Submit aims and intentions sheet by Wednesday 11th July.
  •        Looking for locations to shoot at.
  •     Update my action plan.

    A great start to your Action Plan, Becca. Remember to review this in the light of the evaluation exercise we did in class on Monday - what have you managed to accomplish already? What do you still need to do? Have you considered shows that you want to analyse in more detail?

Welcome back, since doing my research into the two TV channels I have been informed that I am not just restricted to ITV1 but I can pick any of their commercial portfolio. Due to this I have done some research into the different channels to see the different remit options.  ITV is the home of high quality, popular televission from the biggest entertainment events, to original drama, soaps, sport, factual series and independent news, both national, and regional.  ITV2 is ITV's entertainment channel for young people, with a range of shows including orignial scripted comedies and panel shows, American acquisitions and movies.  ITV3 is a home for popular classic drama series from ITV, alongside a selection of choice factual and entertainment programmes. Welcome! Hi, my name is Becca and this is my introduction to my media studies coursework. I am currently 17 years old, studying my A levels at Hills Road sixth form college. These consist of Media studies, History and Drama, in hopes that they will help me go on to study Film studies at University. The task I have been set from my college is to create a cross-media production for a new television programme, which includes an audio visual aspect along with a print aspect. As part of our brief we were told the target audience for our shows were 18-35 millennials.  Millennials are likely the most studied and talked about generation to date.  The definition of a millennial is " a person reaching young adulthood in the early 21st century". There are no precise dates for when the age of this group starts or ends; but it's typically the early 1980s as starting birth years and the mid-1990s to early 2000s as ending birth years.
